This Prayer given to us by Jesus during the sermon on the mount is the complete prayer and covers all things. I will explain how I see it.! This prayer could be for all faiths.! Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. (Our God who lives in heaven all praise and glory to your name). Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Let your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven). Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. (Give us all that we need to live today, and forgive us our sins and faults, as we forgive those who sin or hurt us. This verse is the hardest to keep). Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. ( help us to be better people and keep us from bad temptation). For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. The final verse states: God has the kingdom of heaven, all the power and all the glory for all time.). This is a very simple prayer, but it contains all of the wisdom we need to ensure a happy World, if everyone followed it in its entirety. I believe that this prayer fits most major religions. It demands love and respect for God and all mankind. Submitted by John4 web master. |
