Israel is continuing it attacks on Lebanese land and more innocents are dying. America always stands firm with Israel. I find myself beginning to wonder why.? So I went online to try and understand why, I did find some links that need answers. There have been 65 United Nations resolutions against Israel between 1955 and 1992, apparently all ignored by Israel. But I do not hear the USA demanding that they should accept these resolutions. I looked further at the resolutions the USA vetoed that were critical of Israel. Between 1972 and 1982 there were 35. There is something very wrong here. Wrong and unjust.!! I reached the conclusion that like the League of Nations the United Nations are flawed. The veto is a bad system as one member Country can block all progress. If the world wants justice for Palestine and its occupation by Israel. One country can veto this is, this is wrong and is most certainly not democratic. For the UN to really work the veto should be abolished and a majority vote of 2 thirds should be adopted. this would mean that no one country could block progress, but a sizable majority would make the decision. If there was no veto, a democratic solution could have been found via the UN regarding the Palestine problem. What hold has Israel on the USA that has caused the veto and these ignored UN resolutions. I wonder ! "and this is a personal thought" Does the strong Jewish population in the USA hold so much financial power that the American economy would collapse if they removed it.?? Only my thoughts, but I really do wonder. I do wonder why the USA who claims to be for freedom and democracy is so tied to a country that is getting frighteningly similar to the Nazi state of pre-war Germany. |
